Course Details

Hairdressing is an ever-expanding, exciting and competitive industry. This Level 3 course will provide you with in-depth knowledge and skills that will help you succeed in this industry. You will build on the basic skills you have learned at Level 2, and acquire more specialised skills and techniques in creative cutting, colouring, dressing and styling hair, both short and long and men's hairstyling. Hands-on, creative lessons in our modern, well-equipped studios will give you the opportunity to carry out services on paying clients, increase your confidence, and develop excellent customer service. You will have specialist consultation and treatment services training for hair and scalp conditions and learn how to plan, organise, and carry out a promotional event, such as a coffee morning. You will also have the opportunity to participate in competitions and showcase your skills at the college Hair Show. Opportunities to shine will include encouragement to take part in internal and external skills events.

How will it be delivered and assessed?

You will build a portfolio of work and evidence throughout the year, and you will be observed while you carry our practical hairdressing tasks. You will also be required to sit exams and complete written assignments.

Entry requirements

Successful completion of the Level 2 course and GCSE English or maths at grade 4.
