Course Summary
THE HISTORY COURSE THAT WE OFFER AT HOMEWOOD COMPRISES STUDIES OF MORE THAN 500 YEARS OF BRITISH, EUROPEAN AND GLOBAL HISTORY. OVER THE TWO YEARS, STUDENTS STUDY A HUGE NUMBER OF KEY HISTORICAL EVENTS INCLUDING THE REFORMATION, THE COLD WAR, AND THE RISE OF THE NAZI PARTY. STUDENTS WILL ALSO BE TAUGHT HOW TO DEVELOP A RANGE OF HISTORICAL SKILLS INCLUDING EVALUATING THROUGH SECOND ORDER CONCEPTS SUCH AS CAUSE, CONSEQUENCE AND SIGNIFICANCE, AND LEARNING TO ANALYSE SOURCES AND INTERPRETATIONS.

5 GCSE grades at 4 or above including English and a 5 in History.

Studying History not only provides students with an understanding of the modern world, but also gives them a range of skills including analysis, persuasive writing, problem solving, and research skills.
