Course Summary
Do you love working with animals and aspire to pursue a career working with them? Equivalent to three A Levels, this course offers practical experience and hands-on learning, paving the way for higher education opportunities in fields such as animal science, animal behaviour, animal welfare, veterinary nursing, zoology, and conservation.
Course Details
This course provides a comprehensive exploration of animal management and science, covering everything from animal behaviour and nutrition to health, welfare, and husbandry, and business management. You'll gain practical skills in animal handling, biosecurity protocols, and routine care of animals. The program further specialises into Animal Science exploring key topics such as animal biology, ethics, behaviour, breeding, conservation, welfare legislation and scientific investigations. There is significant science within this course, particularly biology and chemistry. Additionally, you'll undertake an industry placement, offering you the chance to apply your knowledge and skills in a real-world workplace environment.
How will it be delivered and assessed?
Assessment includes written exams, practical assessments, assignments, and an employerset task that includes a presentation.
Entry requirements
Five GCSEs at grade 5 or above, including Maths and Science at grade 5 and English at grade 4.
