Course Summary
If you can take A level Maths, you should take A Level Maths.
Maths is key for developing your analytical, research and problem solving skills.
The A level is balanced between core and applied modules that give you a firm foundation in mathematical techniques which allows you to go on to further study or straight into work.
Exam Board: Edexcel
Course Details
Three modules in Year 12 and three modules in Year 13.
In Year 12 you study Core 1, Core 2 and Statistics 1.
If you then choose to continue study into Year 13 you study Core 3, Core 4 and Decision 1 (maths that is linked to programming).
Each of the modules is equally weighted in terms of your final grade.
How will it be delivered and assessed?
Three exams at the end of Year 12 (Core 1, Core 2 and Statistics) for an AS qualification.
There are three exams at the end of Year 13 (Core 3, Core 4 and Decision 1 Maths) for an A level qualification.
Entry requirements
You need a grade 6 or higher at GCSE Mathematics.
