Introduce students to how language is used, but it should also develop their ability to use and craft language themselves; to cultivate their own distinct creative voice.

To improve your use of the English language and to enjoy using it; developing research, investigation and analytical skills is excellent preparation for further study or entering the workplace.

Additional information:
This course, although involving some creative work, has a clear focus on grammar. You should be willing to focus on some close, analytical linguistic work for this course. Your technical accuracy should be good. You should also be prepared to assimilate a number of linguistic terms, if you are to perform well on this course
