Course Summary
Further Mathematics allows you study a wider range of topics in mathematics, which will help you for further study of mathematics at university. Topics studied include matrices and complex numbers which are particularly useful for programming and engineering related degrees.

Course Details
Further Mathematics is an additional A-Level qualification in mathematics which deepens your understanding of mathematics by allowing you to study a wider range of topics. As well as doing your three A-Level Modules in Year 12 you study three additional modules over the first year.
The course is done through regular online seminars through the Further Mathematics Support Programme. Students are required to ‘attend’ regular online interactive lectures and complete homework assignments which are emailed to their Tutors. This is supervised within the school and we are available to help students.
How will it be delivered and assessed?
There are three examinations for the three modules in Year 12 – FP1 FP2 and an applied module, followed by three more modules in Year 13 if you carry on with the course.
Entry requirements
You need grade 8 or higher at GCSE Mathematics.
