Course Details

Students will have the opportunity to develop their linguistic competence to a high standard in the four language skills, to acquire a good knowledge of grammar and to broaden their cultural knowledge of French speaking countries. Topics studied—Youth Culture and concerns, Lifestyles, health and fitness, World Around Us, Education and Employment.


How will it be delivered and assessed?

Examination taken at end of the two-year course

Paper 1: Listening, reading and translation – 40%

Paper 2: Written response to works and translation – 30%

Paper 3: Speaking – 30%

Entry requirements

6 (minimum) at GCSE, plus a good memory and logical mind, plus an enjoyment of language learning.
