Hairdressing Studies Diploma Level 2

This qualification aims to provide you with a range of essential and practical skills and knowledge, which will equip you to seek employment or further training within the hairdressing industry.

The course covers all the core skills you will need to progress to further learning and training. You will study the following mandatory content:

• Health and safety practice in the salon
• Client consultation for hair services
• Shampoo and condition the hair and scalp
• The art of colouring hair
• Colour and lighten hair
• Cut women’s hair
• The art of dressing hair
• Working in the hair industry

There will also be:

• Structured work experience or work placements within their business
• Classes/lectures given by industry experts
• Employer’s input into projects and exercises
• End of year show to showcase your work

You be assessed by the following:

• A service portfolio including evidence of practical service carried out with proficiency
• Practical assessments are pass or fail
• Online exams for a range of units

Upon successful completion, you could go into full time work in the industry or further your career by adding a Barbering qualification or moving onto the Level 3 qualification.
