Course Summary
Why study English Literature?
English Literature is really unlike any other A Level; it is a subject for people who want to experience the world around them from any time or place; for people who want to ask questions about what it means to be human; for people who open the curiosity door and for all the deep thinking philosophers. The study of literature is fantastic because of its breadth and depth: not only are you studying the art and craft of writing, the power of language and of reading, but also history, geography, sociology, psychology, politics, aesthetics and philosophy.
The joy of A-level English literature is in its intellectual and cultural richness and the knowledge of humanity it brings. It’s priceless.
