Course Summary
Within the course, you will be given a range of projects to complete throughout the year which will prepare you for your final major project that is internally assessed and externally moderated by UAL. In Year 1 you will complete Unit 1 to Unit 3 In Year 2, you will complete Unit 4 to Unit 6.The overall grade for the qualification is based on Unit 6: Specialist Creative Outcome. All units will be graded against the Assessment Objectives set by UAL, with Unit 6 being graded either a Pass, Merit or Distinction.
Course Details
Equivalent to 3 A Levels, a total of 72-168 UCAS points, depending on grades achieved. This qualification aims to give trainees the opportunity to explore different types of content creation and digital marketing. Through a variety of projects, you will experience how to develop campaigns from the initial research stages and understanding your audience, to creating a variety of content and measuring the impact. The content creation course develops skills in multiple disciplines, with projects asking trainees to create audio, visual and written content for a variety of platforms with a focus on social media and giving you first-hand experience engaging and interacting with audiences and different brands. As part of the course, trainees will also have opportunities to experiment with effective digital marketing tools and techniques to help get noticed even in crowded markets. The course is delivered through hands-on experience with industry standard software, such as the Adobe Creative Suite including Audition and Premiere Pro, as well as use of our in-house radio station and TV studios. Trainees will also have access to our media stores which has a variety of camera and audio equipment which can be booked out for their projects. Our ethos is to align with the creative industries as much as possible meaning the course uses live projects and production-based exercises to get you involved in using digital platforms, presenting work to audiences and developing a large range of creative skills suitable for employment or higher education.

Entry requirements
Minimum of four GCSEs grade 4 - 9 including English and preferably maths and one creative subject. Or an equivalent Level 2 Qualification in Art and Design at merit or above. You will need a positive school report/recommendation/reference from your school/tutor. We also require a portfolio of work to be presented at interview. You will also be set an interview task when you apply to bring along to your interview.
