Course Details

The Level 2 Diploma in Performing and Production Arts (Acting) at The Miskin Theatre North Kent College gives you the opportunity to be an actor in a working, producing Theatre Company. It provides a professional training in a theatre, with state-of-the-art facilities. The Miskin is run by experienced industry professionals who will work with you to produce ground-breaking, exciting theatre, and develop your skills and confidence to support you in the craft of acting. The Miskin will support you in becoming a well-trained, clear-thinking performer ready to take your first steps into the industry. You will also develop the skills that all employers are looking for, including teamwork, self-confidence, communication skills, self-motivation, and the ability to meet targets. The Level 2 course is the first stepping stone to a successful future as an actor. It will help you gain the confidence, skills and the academic levels you need to achieve in order to progress on to the Level 3 Diploma in Performing and Production Arts. Our Study Programme includes opportunities for you to further develop your English and Maths skills as required. You may be expected to complete either functional skills or GCSE qualifications as part of your course depending on your GCSE results.

Entry requirements

Minimum of four GCSEs at grade 3 or above including English and preferably maths and one creative subject. Or an equivalent Level 1 Qualification in Performing Arts at merit or above. You will need a positive school report/recommendation/reference from your school/tutor. You will be required to attend an audition and interview where you will perform a monologue of your choice and will be asked to explain your commitment to acting. You will also take part in a practical drama workshop on the day. The outcome of your audition/interview will be assessed by the directors, and they will let you know if you have been successful.
