Course Summary

Learners will be assessed using a combination of the following methods:
Practical Observations Learners are required to demonstrate competence in performing beauty therapy treatments on clients. Assessments will be carried out by tutors under examination conditions and must meet industry standards.
Oral and Written Questions Knowledge and understanding will be assessed through oral questioning and written tasks to confirm underpinning theory.
Assignments/Projects Learners may be required to complete written assignments or projects to evidence understanding of health and safety, client care, and theoretical principles supporting treatments.
Portfolio of Evidence A portfolio must be compiled to record all assessments, including practical observations, assignments, and knowledge-based evidence. This portfolio will demonstrate the learner’s progress and achievement throughout the course.
External Examination Learners are required to complete online tests at the end of each unit to confirm underpinning knowledge and understanding across the qualification.

Course Details

The VTCT Level 3 Diploma in Beauty Therapy is a recognised qualification designed to develop advanced practical and theoretical skills within the field of beauty therapy. This Beauty Therapy Level 3 course provides comprehensive training in face and body electrotherapy and body massage techniques.
In addition, learners will have the opportunity to complete a range of specialist practical units, including:
Massage using pre-blended aromatherapy oils Electrical facial treatments Body electrical treatments Hot stone massage Microdermabrasion facials
The qualification also incorporates essential knowledge areas such as health and safety in beauty therapy, client care, and professional communication. Learners will develop an underpinning theoretical understanding to support the practical competencies required by the industry.
Purpose of the Qualification The primary aim of this qualification is to prepare learners for employment as a professional beauty therapist. Successful completion will enable learners to provide a wide range of treatments to industry standards, enhancing career opportunities in salons, spas, and self-employment within the beauty therapy sector.

Entry requirements

Level 2 Beauty qualification GCSE in both Maths and English grade 4/C and above.
Currently working in salon.
