Course Summary
Study with us to gain a greater insight into the production of photography. We will teach you advanced skills in capturing stunning imagery while you understand the theory of composition, lighting, focus and exposure and develop your ideas into engaging pieces of art.
Course Details
You will use your passion for taking photos to develop your knowledge and skills in the creative photography process. You will gain a thorough understanding of photography and learn how to develop your ideas into an engaging piece of art. Our expert tutors will teach you a range of advanced techniques and processes; let you explore portraiture, landscape and still-life photography, and guide you on how to present your ideas in an informed and meaningful way. Over the course of the two year you will produce practical and contextual work in a number of areas including: * Portraiture * Landscape photography * Still-life photography * Analogue and digital photography * Documentary photography * Photo-journalism * Experimental imagery * Photographic installation * Recording in video * Television * Film * Editing, image manipulation, printing and an outline of photographic history and culture
How will it be delivered and assessed?
You will be assessed by a combination of both practical and written work, documented in a portfolio to show evidence of individual research, personal development and concepts. During your final year project you will be required to create a piece of practical work during a timed assessment.
Entry requirements
Our general entry criteria to study 3 A-Levels is: Minimum five GCSEs grade 4-9 with English Language or Maths at grade 5. For a mixed Level 3 programme the criteria are: Minimum five GCSEs grade 4-9 with English Language or Maths at grade 4. Subject specific entry criteria apply: No subject specific entry requirements.
