Course Summary

Our Fine Art A-Level will help you channel your creativity and passion for art so you can gain a greater understanding of the creative process. You will learn to develop ideas, experiment with materials, and use different techniques and processes to create critical contextual work.

Course Details

During this two-year course, we'll give you a thorough introduction to the world of Fine Art. You will develop a whole host of creative skills in drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, 3D installation, photography, and film. We will then help you build confidence in developing your ideas, encourage you as you experimenting with different materials, techniques and processes, and then guide you so you can present your work in an informed and meaningful way.

How will it be delivered and assessed?

You will be assessed through portfolio presentation, individual research, and personal development and concepts.

Entry requirements

Our general entry criteria to study 3 A-Levels is: Minimum five GCSEs grade 4-9 with English Language or Maths at grade 5. For a mixed Level 3 programme the criteria are: Minimum five GCSEs grade 4-9 with English Language or Maths at grade 4. Subject specific entry criteria apply: A GCSE grade 4 in an Art related subject.

Your next steps...

Once you have completed this course, you will be ready to progress onto our Foundation Diploma in Art & Design or start our BA (Hons) Fine Art degree course at the University Centre Hastings. Once you have finished your studies, you will be able to start a career as an artist, a sculptor, an illustrator, a graphic designer, a curator, a photographer, or a teacher.
