Extended Certificate in Applied Science

Is this subject right for me?

Do you enjoy Science but want to take a more practical and vocational approach? Applied Science BTEC could be the course for you. BTEC level 3 qualifications are equivalent to A-Levels and are awarded the same points as A-Levels. BTEC qualifications are also recognised and valued by employers. Applied Science BTEC is studied alongside other BTEC courses or A-Level subjects.

The Applied Science course brings together knowledge and understanding with practical and technical skills.

What will I study?

There are three mandatory units:

· Principals of Applied Science 1

· Practical Scientific procedures and techniques

· Science Investigating skills

One optional unit

Minimum Entry Requirements

Combined Science grade 5–5 or Triple Sciences, grade 5, 5, 5. English and Mathematics grade 5
