Supported Internships

Supported Internships (SI) are work-based study programmes aimed at young people with Educational, Health and Care Plans and are aged 16-24 years old.

Supported Internships (SI) are unpaid but will provide young people with a special need the opportunity to move into sustained paid employment. Interns, young people on a supported internship, will spend much of their time in one or more workplaces, developing employment and life skills. As an intern you would be supported by a job coach, this is a trained adult who will help you understand what to do whilst at work.

If you are ready to find work and have an Education, Health and Care Plan, a Supported Internship may be right for you. You will have time in college, real work placements and a job coach. Supported Internships can last between 6 months and 1 year.
