Course Summary
This qualification consists of seven units, four mandatory units and one specialist units and has the academic equivalence of 1.5 A-Levels. The course units for study are; * Functional Anatomy � Examined (M) * Applied Sport and Exercise Psychology � Externally Assessed Task (M) * Field- and Laboratory-based Fitness Testing (M) * Sports Injury and Assessment * Specialised Fitness Training * Sports Massage * Technology in Sport and Exercise You will produce three assignments for each optional unit. Optional units are subject to change in order to meet changes in the workplace.

How will it be delivered and assessed?
You will be assessed on a continuous assessment basis with assignments at specific times throughout the year. Assessment methods include essay writing, presentations and practical observations or performance. External assessments include exams and seen case studies.
Entry requirements
Minimum five grade 4-9 at GCSE or successful completion of the Level 2 course, and English, maths and science at grade 4.
Your next steps...
Upon successful completion of year 1, students can progress in to the second year which is worth an additional 1.5 A-levels. After achieving the 3 A-level equivalent after two years, students will be able to progress on to University should they wish to pursue a career in Sports Science, or alternatively on to employment within sports coaching.
