Course Summary

This course is the perfect start for a career in the games industry or further study at university. You should be enthusiastic about analysing what makes games fun to play and making them more challenging for the player. Develop your coding skills using the C# programming language alongside the Unity game engine to create custom scripts for your game. We use industry standard software and cutting-edge hardware such as Oculus VR, motion capture suits and high-end Nvidia graphic cards along with a twin-monitor setup to ensure you have the opportunity to develop your games as efficiently as possible.

How will it be delivered and assessed?

The course is project/assignment based and there are no exams. You will be continually assessed throughout the course and the year will culminate in a final project which will be graded as a pass, merit or distinction. This course is 100% coursework and you will present your work in a range of formats You will be assessed on your research, development and experimentation and final outcomes and you will be encouraged to develop your work and professional practice through evaluation and self-reflection.

Entry requirements

Minimum five grade 4-9 at GCSE or successful completion of the Level 2 course, and English or maths at grade 4.
