Social Care Level 3 Technical Occupational Entry Diploma

Begin your journey into the world of social care with a course designed to build real understanding and practical confidence. Over two years, you’ll explore essential topics such as mental health and wellbeing, equality and rights in care, psychology, dementia and autism, along with how to plan and deliver effective support. Your learning is strengthened through hands-on work placement experience, giving you the chance to apply your skills in real care settings. By completing the programme, you’ll achieve the NCFE CACHE Level 3 Technical Occupational Entry in Social Care (Diploma), opening pathways into further study or a variety of roles across the health and social care sector.

Over the two years you will be completing 23 units, you will study a range of units which relate to good practice in the field of Social Care, which include: equality, diversity, dignity and rights in social care; the care and support planning process; mental health and wellbeing; psychology in social care; end of life care; understanding anatomy and physiology; dementia awareness; understanding autism.

You will be assessed using various methods, such as a professional and recorded discussion, a synoptic assessment, case studies, presentations, portfolio and written assessments. You will also be required to do some work experience where you will build up skills and knowledge that will contribute to your assessments. All of this is supported by your tutors and is internally assessed.

You will gain the NCFE CACHE Level 3 Technical Occupational Entry in Social Care (Diploma).

Minimum five grade 4-9 at GCSE or successful completion of the Level 2 course, and English at grade 4 and maths at grade 3. A clear DBS check will be required.

The level 3 qualifications can support progression to higher level study or go straight into employment in the field of social care, including the fields of health and social work or mental health care.
