Preparation for Public Services Level 2 Diploma

This course develops the basic underpinning knowledge of the requirements for entry into Public Uniformed Services. You will study practical and theoretical elements including: employment in the Protective Services; physical fitness; team working and problem solving; health and hygiene; map reading and navigation; adventurous activities; competitive sports and volunteering opportunities.

You will study a total of six units during your time at college incorporating both practical and theoretical elements including: Employment in the Uniformed Services Physical Fitness for the Uniformed Services Develop Team Working and Problem Solving Skills Health and Hygiene in the Uniformed Services Carry Out Map Reading and Navigation Undertake Adventurous Activities Participate in Competitive Sports Explore the Use of Telecommunication in the Uniformed Services Explore Volunteering and Volunteering Opportunities

Assessment is through coursework, portfolios and assignments as ongoing assessment. The package offers a well rounded education, which will give an experience of different fields of assessment in preparation to progress onto advanced study on an BTEC 90 Credit Diploma Level 3 course. The qualification grade will be calculated through the accumulation of credits throughout the studied units.

Minimum four grade 3-9 at GCSE or successful completion of the Level 1 course, and English or maths at grade 3.

On successful completion of the course, Students may wish to progress on to the Level 3 90 Credit Public Service Diploma.
