A range of specified PPE will be required for this course and will cost approximately �50. The PPE required will consist of safety boots, hi-vis vest and safety glasses. There are also a number of opportunities throughout the year for various construction related trips which may also incur a cost.

Join us for this Level 1 course in Plumbing as we give you the perfect introduction to this diverse career. We'll tell you more about the industry, stress the importance of health and safety, tell you more about plumbing tasks.
Course Details
During the course you will be given a thorough introduction to the skills and knowledge required within the plumbing trade. Learning will take place in our purpose built plumbing workshop where you will learn the importance of safe working practice. You will build your knowledge and competence in working with copper and plastic piping, learn how to bend and join pipework, and understand the science of plumbing. Maths and English is also an important part of this course. During the course you will cover topics including: * Safe working practices * Bending and joining copper pipe * Steel and plastic pipework * Above ground drainage * Installation, repair and maintenance of plumbing systems * Plumbing science * Environmental and sustainability measures in domestic dwellings
How will it be delivered and assessed?
Assessments will take place throughout the duration of the course. Practical tasks will make up 60% of the assessment and 40% will be made up of exams. Constructive feedback from your tutor will help you to improve and progress towards recognised industrial standards.
Entry requirements
GCSE English and maths at grade 3.
Your next steps...
On completion of the course you can progress onto the Level 2 Plumbing course or start an apprenticeship in plumbing. With additional training you could then progress into employment as a Plumber, a Heating Engineer, an Air-conditioning and refrigeration systems engineer, or a Site Manager.
