Hairdressing Level 1 Diploma

If you want to work as a hairdresser this course will set you on the path to a successful career in the industry. This one year course will teach you essential hairdressing knowledge, skills and techniques, from styling hair, customer service and health and safety in the salon. with the aim to prepare you for salon life. Upon successful completion of L1 Hairdressing course and sufficient progress made in English and maths your career pathway could lead you to the next level of skills in hairdressing, barbering either as a full time students or as an apprentice.

During this course, you will study 4 mandatory units Introduction to the hair and beauty sector Presenting a professional image in a salon Follow health and safety in the salon Working with others in the hair and beauty sector In addition to the 4 mandatory units, you will also study a range of units such as: Shampoo and conditioning Styling women's hair Plaiting and twisting hair Colour hair using a temporary colour Create a hair and beauty image Salon reception duties The art of colouring hair

Practical observations Providing services to clients in a realistic working environment Building a portfolio of theory evidence Assignments Exams

You will need to demonstrate an ability to achieve Level 1 English and maths by the end of the course through an initial assessment.

This course is designed to support your progression onto our level 2 courses. Level 2 Hairdressing Level 2 Barbering Alternatively, you may wish to choose a slightly different career path and progress onto Level 2 Beauty Therapy
