Course Summary
This qualification meets the needs of learners who want to work front of house within a hospitality environment. It is also for those learners that want a rounded knowledge of both front of house and the kitchen, which will enable them to look at more senior positions in the future. The qualification covers all aspects of food and beverage service. It will deliver the key skills required by the learner to ensure they will have a thorough understanding of the role and expectations that any future employer will expect of them. On successful completion of this qualification learners can look to progress onto more senior supervisory qualifications such as the Level 3 Diploma in Hospitality Supervision and Leadership
Course Details
You will study a full range of units such as: You will work as part of a �Hospitality team� in our live restaurant which is open to the general public. . https://www.escg.ac.uk/shops-services/kings-restaurant/ This will ensure you learn how to prepare the restaurant for service, meet and greet guests, take orders, serve food, take payments, and clear down accordingly. Furthermore, you will also learn how to prepare and make a variety of soft and alcoholic drinks as well as barista style coffees. This course is broken down into units which all carry and element of theory.
How will it be delivered and assessed?
You will be assessed using a range of methods such as: Assignments, multiple choice papers, short answer questions, practical observations and work products.
Entry requirements
Minimum four grade 3-9 at GCSE or successful completion of the Level 1 course, and English or maths at grade 3.
Your next steps...
What can I do after completing this course? This qualification will help you to progress in a wide range of hospitality roles including working as: Bar staff, waiter or waitressing roles, any guest facing roles in hospitality. The industry is broad and there are many paths you can follow outside of food and beverage. You may wish to progress onto Level 3 Food and Beverage supervision course which will allow you to hone your supervisory skills.
