Land-based Skills Bootcamps in East Sussex

The Arboriculture and Tree Surgery Skills Bootcamp is designed for experienced arborists ready to step into leadership - combining advanced technical training, site management, compliance, and team supervision skills to prepare you for confident, competent leadership in today’s evolving tree care industry. You will learn how to interpret tree survey reports and woodland management plans, respond to pests and diseases and get to grips with legislation and inspection training with the use of digital technologies including sonic tomograph, resi-drill to interpret readings. This knowledge will allow you to manage complex sites and ensure best practice in both environmental stewardship and workplace safety when leading your team.

Accreditation:

SSSTS Certification.

Duration:

2 days a week, Thursdays and Fridays, for 7 weeks.

3-4 days a week for 3 weeks.

The Small Animal Hydrotherapy Skills Bootcamp - Level 4 Certificate in Canine Hydrotherapy for Musculoskeletal Practitioners is aimed at aspiring hydrotherapists who are already in the animal therapies industry e.g. currently working as a veterinary physiotherapist. 

Learners will engage in reflective practice, enhance their clinical reasoning and critical thinking skills and understand the importance of working within their scope of practice. They will recognise the legal, ethical, and professional standards, obligations, and accountability required of a professional canine hydrotherapist. Learners will gain knowledge of the optimum design of the hydrotherapy suite, sustainable practice models, and current health and safety standards in canine hydrotherapy. Learners will also understand the contextual nature of canine behaviour, the ethical responsibility of working with consent, and the importance of Therapeutic Handling techniques in hydrotherapy.

Additionally, learners will learn about canine functional anatomy and biomechanics, Learners will demonstrate clinical risk assessment skills, risk rating, health monitoring, and emergency canine first aid, as well as assessment processes, clinical reasoning, and advanced hydrotherapy treatment techniques. Finally, learners will develop skills in evaluating and analysing hydrotherapy water management.

Accreditation:

Level 4 Certificate in Canine Hydrotherapy for Musculoskeletal Practitioners. This qualification is currently recognised by the National Association of Registered Canine Hydrotherapists (NARCH) and The Institute of Registered Veterinary & Animal Physiotherapists (IRVAP) allowing choice of registration following certification.

Duration:

2 days a week, Wednesdays and Thursdays, for 10 weeks.

The Viticulture Skills Bootcamp is suitable for those currently working in or seeking employment at a vineyard. This course has all the necessary elements required to work in a vineyard, combining an overview of the UK Wine Industry and the technical knowledge needed to work in a vineyard and grow grapes, along with practical skills to undertake vineyard operations throughout the season. Launch or enhance your career in the UK wine industry with this intensive, hands-on vinegrowing course. You will learn essential theory, practical vineyard techniques such as tractor spraying and safe use of pesticides, combined with industry-recognised certifications to equip you with the skills, knowledge, and network needed to thrive in cool climate grape production and vineyard operations.

Accreditation:

Plumpton Certificate - Principles of Vinegrowing (Intensive), Safe Use of Pesticides (PA1), Air Assisted  Tractor Driving, Emergency First Aid at Work, Dynamic Risk Assessment, Intro to UK Wine.

Duration:

5 days a week, Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, for 4 weeks.
