About us

Welcome to The View @ East Street

The View @ East Street (TV@ES) is a study-centre for 16-18 year olds based in the heart of Tonbridge. TV@ES is a satellite Centre of the highly successful Hillview School for Girls, and suits students who may need additional support with their first steps into the workplace, or need to boost their GCSE and Level 2 qualifications in order to secure a place at sixth form or college.

TV@ES offers the highest level of support through a unique, personalised and flexible approach. Students receive dedicated pastoral support through key adults, pastoral programmes, strategy development and other key professionals where needed. Our unique Learning Centre supports young people who will benefit from, and prefer to study in, a small, nurturing environment.

Additional Learning Support at TV@ES is designed to remove any potential barriers to learning, and ensure positive and successful outcomes. We work closely with students to organise support and make reasonable adjustments to their learning experiences so they can achieve their full potential.

Our focus is firmly on equipping young people not only with key qualifications, but also the confidence and broad range of employability and life skills they need to move on to further education or the career of their choice.

Student support

Pastoral care is paramount to the success of all learners. The individualised student support and safeguarding at TV@ES ensures that our young people grow in confidence and are able to engage with the challenges and opportunities their learning brings. We develop our students to be community minded learners, who enthusiastically engage with events and the wider community.

TV@ES is supported by a dedicated Student Support Manager and, through Personal Development Learning sessions, we ensure students receive emotional, social and organisational guidance throughout their studies. Where appropriate and needed, we have access to counselling services to support students to overcome potential barriers to their learning due to emotional and mental health issues.

What makes us different?

TV@ES students benefit from a personalised, flexible approach to teaching, learning and support. Our small study rooms are well-equipped with IT resources to support blended learning, and our developing resource centre supports independent learning.
