Application Instructions

You can only apply for one course type on an application.

Applying for A-Levels and/or V-Levels? You can choose to study three A-Levels or create a mixed programme combining A-Levels with other qualifications, including the new V-Levels. You will select the courses from a list of relevant subjects when you apply.

Applying for T-Levels? T-Levels are full-time courses that allow you to focus on one subject.

Applying for Vocational courses? Our technical and professional vocational courses are full-time programmes focusing on one subject. You can apply for up to two courses in the same application.

We accept applications to more than one campus; however once you have attended an interview session and received an offer from us, you will need to confirm your first-choice course and the campus you want to study at.

Course Details

This Level 3 course will prepare you for entry to a range of exciting careers in a range of services, including the Armed Forces, Police, and Emergency and Rescue Services. You will study eight modules in their first year, covering interesting topics such as politics, leadership, discipline, psychology, citizenship, physical training, criminology, emergency incidents, and outdoor activities. All of the units provide you with background knowledge and understanding of the industry and a range of essential life skills. Throughout the course, there will be enjoyable trips and visits to public services, residential and expedition training, which will involve overnight stays, and industry talks from public service professionals.

How will it be delivered and assessed?

You will be assessed continually throughout the course by a variety of methods. You will have written assignments and reports, practicals, simulations, role-plays, and presentations. There are no formal exams, but your coursework has formal deadlines that must be met.

Entry requirements

Minimum five grade 4-9 at GCSE or successful completion of the Level 2 course, and English Language or maths at grade 4.

Your next steps...

Once you have finished this course, you will have the equivalent of 3 A-Levels, meaning you can progress to university to study related disciplines, such as psychology or politics. If you'd like to start your career in the public services, then you'll have all the skills you need to find roles in the police, armed forces (including direct officer entry), the emergency and rescue services, the merchant navy, offender management services and private and public security organisations.
