Entry Requirements: - Grade 4 and above in 5 GCSEs Including English and Maths for Level 3 programmes, higher grades are required for some subjects

Course Summary
There are many jobs within the Leisure, Travel and Tourism sector that require the sound knowledge and understanding of Travel and Tourism that will be gained through the completion of this course.
Course Details
This course can be studied as a single award
Students studying the single award will complete 3 core units
Unit 1 - The world of Travel & Tourist
Unit 2 - Global Dimensions
Unit 3 - Principles of Marketing in Travel & Tourism
and one additional unit;
Unit 9 - Visitor Attractions
How will it be delivered and assessed?
Units 1 & 2 are assessed externally, one is a one-and-a-half-hour exam and the other is a synoptic assessment. The remaining units are coursework which may require you to write essays and produce PowerPoints by an agreed deadline.
Entry requirements
Students will require a minimum of five A*-C/9-4 grades at GCSE, including English Language and Mathematics. Students should have an interest in the Leisure, Travel & Tourism sector.

This qualification is designed to help students work towards higher level qualifications at college or University. It may also lead onto an apprenticeship or employment with companies such as Eurostar, Holiday Extras or Saga. There could also be opportunities linking to the Dover-Calais Ports or airline companies. There are many travel agents and tourist boards that require trained and informed individuals to work in their shops, online or overseas.
