A range of specified PPE and a basic plumbing tool set will be required for this course and will cost approximately �120.
The PPE required will consist of safety boots, work trousers, navy/black polo shirt, gloves, hi-vis vest and safety glasses. There are also a number of opportunities throughout the year for various construction related trips which may also incur a cost.
Course Summary
During this advanced course you will learn a range of advanced skills in plumbing which will provide a great foundation for your career or to go on to specialise in new technologies.
Learn about the principles and requirements of environmental technology systems, understand system installation planning and increase your knowledge in complex water systems.
You will also learn about domestic gas principles which will open a pathway for you to train in gas installation.
How will it be delivered and assessed?
Assessments will take place throughout the duration of the course. Practical tasks will make up 50% of the assessment and 50% will be made up of exams. Accuracy and being able to complete tasks within a set time constraint are essential for successful completion. Constructive feedback from your tutor will also help you to improve and progress towards recognised industrial standards.
Entry requirements
Successful completion of the Level 2 course, and English and maths GCSE at grade 4.
Your next steps...
On completion of the course you can progress onto a Level 4 HNC in Construction or start an apprenticeship in plumbing.
There are a number of career opportunities available to you including working as a Plumber, a Heating Engineer, an Air-conditioning and refrigeration systems engineer, or a Site Manager.
