Course Summary
Performing Arts (Music)
This course is fun, exciting and challenging. The work offers opportunities to develop a wide range of music performance skills, where candidates are expected to perform as ensembles and solo to live audiences. The course can also include, musical analysis of popular music from the 1950s to present day, marketing and promotion of music based events, and also opportunities for live event management.
How will I learn?
Development of a substantial personal portfolio is fundamental to the way in which the units are structured. In addition there will be plenty of opportunity for performances, presentations, research and discussion. Feedback is a constant element of our work informally and formally, both by teachers and peers and it forms the basis of setting targets to improve instrumental technique, skills and work. We encourage students to take an active role in College Music Groups, supporting the Christmas production and other performance projects.
