Course Summary

THIS COURSE EXPLORES ONE OF TODAY’S MOST IMPORTANT ISSUES WHICH IS MENTAL HEALTH. LEARNERS WILL GAIN ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE OF THE FACTORS THAT INFLUENCE WELLBEING, FROM LIFESTYLE AND ENVIRONMENT TO SOCIAL AND PSYCHOLOGICAL PRESSURES AND LEARN HOW TO SUPPORT INDIVIDUALS AND COMMUNITIES EFFECTIVELY.

Course Details

The qualification covers practical strategies such as early intervention, building resilience, and creating healthier environments. Learners will also use monitoring tools to assess wellbeing and reflect on approaches that improve outcomes. By the end, learners will have a strong understanding of mental health and the skills to apply this knowledge in education, healthcare, social care or everyday life.

Unit 1: Fundamentals of Mental Health Externally assessed (Exam)

Unit 2: Mental Health, wellbeing and society Externally assessed (Exam)

Unit 3: Supporting and promoting mental health and wellbeing in organisations. Internal assessed (coursework)

Unit 4: Community based support for mental health and wellbeing. Internal assessed (coursework)

Unit 5: Supporting mental health with physical, outdooor and creative activities. Internal assessed (coursework)

How will it be delivered and assessed?

Two externally asessed exams and three pieces of coursework over the two years.

Entry requirements

5 GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including English and Science.
