Entry Requirements - A minimum of six separately identifiable GCSE subjects at grade 6 or above, OR an average of grade 6 in the best six GCSE subjects achieved

At least a grade 5 in both English and Mathematics For most subjects at A Level, a grade 6 in the subject at GCSE is required. However, for A Level Mathematics a grade 7 is required, and for Further Mathematics a grade 8 is necessary

Studying Law gives students an understanding of the role of Law in today's society and raises their awareness of the rights and responsibilities of individuals. By learning about legal rules and how they apply to real life, students also develop their analytical ability, decision making, critical thinking and problem-solving skills. All these are highly sought after by higher education and employers.

Topics are clearly structured and include:

• The nature of law and the English legal system
• Private law
• Public law
• Legal skills

The exam will comprise of 3 written 2-hour exams papers each worth 33%of the A Level

Each Paper will include a combination of multiple choice, short answer and extended writing questions.

Paper 1: Written 2-hour examination worth 100 marks in total worth 33% of A Level

• The nature of law and English legal system (25 marks out of 100)
• Criminal Law (75 marks out of 100)

Paper 2: Written 2-hour examination worth 100 marks in total worth 33% of A Level

• The nature of law and English legal system (25 marks out of 100)
• Tort (75 marks out of 100)

Paper 3: Written 2-hour examination worth 100 marks in total worth 33% of A Level

• Law of contract (75 marks out of 100)
• The nature of law and English legal system (25 marks out of 100)

Or

• Human rights (75 marks out of 100)
• The nature of law and English legal system (25 marks out of 100)
