Introduction To The World Of Business

This course is all about helping you build the skills you need to be enterprising. You’ll learn what enterprise means, explore the qualities of successful entrepreneurs, and discover your own strengths. You’ll also get the chance to plan and take part in a real enterprise activity, working with others and learning how to improve your skills for the future. It’s a great starting point if you want to boost your confidence, work better in teams, and prepare for further study or work.

You will complete units linked to:

Understanding Enterprise Skills

-Learn what enterprise and entrepreneurship mean.
-Explore the skills and qualities of enterprising individuals.
-Investigate local entrepreneurs and assess your own enterprise skills.

Demonstrating Enterprise Skills

-Plan and take part in an enterprise activity.
-Work collaboratively, agree roles and responsibilities, and manage resources.
-Review the success of the activity and identify areas for personal development.

Assessment is portfolio-based, there are no exams.

-Assessor observations and witness testimonies
-Written reports or assignments
-Presentations and discussions
-Question and answer sessions

You’ll need to demonstrate achievement of all learning outcomes and assessment criteria.

You will need to demonstrate an ability to achieve Level 1 English and maths by the end of the course through an initial assessment.
