Entry Requirements: - Students wishing to study 3 Level 3 courses will be required to achieve 5+ GCSEs at grade 5 and above including English and Mathematics. However, some subjects have additional requirements in terms of the grades required. The Marsh Academy operates a sliding scale of qualifications which are outlined on the Marsh Academy website. There is scope for students to study 2 Level 3 subjects and also studying some Level 2 subjects. Students who wish to study two subjects must have attained 4+GCSEs at grade 5 or above.

Course Summary

Students will have the opportunity to resit Mathematics GCSE. Note, this is a legal requirement for students who do not achieve a grade 4 or above at the end of Year 11. Some students will be able to resit the examinations in November while others will sit the examinations in June depending on previous achievement and teacher recommendation.

Students will study the content required for GCSE mathematics.

How will it be delivered and assessed?

All students in Year 13 will have the opportunity to sit the examinations in November and again in the summer series if required.

Students in Year 12 who have achieved a grade 3 in a previous Mathematics GCSE examination will be entered into the November series and again in the summer series if required. while students who are yet to achieve a grade 3 will be entered into the summer series only.

Entry requirements

Students who have not yet achieved GCSE grade 4 in mathematics will be permitted on this course.

Equipment required

A scientific calculator is required.
