You will be expected to buy a course book, a grammar book and one literary text. There may be additional costs for an optional study or exchange visit to France.
Course Summary
Learning A-Level French with us is not just about vocabulary and grammar. You will learn about history, culture, philosophy, politics, society, art, literature, music, geography, traditions and festivals. You will see the world in a completely different way and broaden your horizons and open your mind.
How will it be delivered and assessed?
Throughout the course you will be given weekly homework and regular tests. At the end of the two years you will sit the final exams.
Paper 1: Listening, reading and translation into English(2 hours).
Paper 2: Written response to works and translation into French (2hrs 40mins). Paper 3: Speaking (18 mins)
Entry requirements
A GCSE grade 6 in French. Candidates without GCSE French but who are bilingual (can write and speak French fluently) will also be considered at interview.
