Course Summary
During this Level 1 course, you will learn how to use carpentry hand tools, how to produce basic woodworking joints, such as mortise and tenon joints, and progress to using a range of portable power tools.
How will it be delivered and assessed?
By a series of practical tasks in the workshop and on-line and written end of unit tests.
Entry requirements
Minimum two grade 2 at GCSE including English and/or maths.
Your next steps...
On successful completion of the course at Level 1, and with good progress on English and Maths, you will be able to progress to Level 2 the following year in Carpentry or Bench Joinery. Alternatively, you may obtain suitable employment in the construction industry and continue your studies as an apprentice.
