Entry Requirements: - For entry onto our A Level and BTEC courses we require:

• a minimum of 6 separately identifiable GCSE subjects at an average grade 5.5 or above and at least a grade 5 in English Language and Mathematics;

• a grade 6 or above in the chosen course of study or a related subject as specified in the sixth form prospectus.

• two grade 7sin Mathematics or Sciences, to study 2 or more Sciences or Mathematics and Science.

Course Details

This qualification is equivalent to one A level. Units studied include:

1. Exploring Business

2. Developing a Marketing Campaign

3. Personal and Business Finance

4. Recruitment and Selection Process

How will it be delivered and assessed?

Unit 1. Exploring Business

Consists of 3 class based assignments which are internally assessed but moderated externally by a standards verifier.

Unit 2. Developing a Marketing Campaign

Developing a marketing campaign is a Controlled Assessment for 3 hours based on a pre-seen case study received 2 weeks prior to the assessment. Research is conducted and 6 sheets are taken into the typed assessment.

Unit 3. Personal and Business Finance

Personal and Business Finance is an external examination. The exam is 2 hours long and has a section on personal finance and a section on business finance.

Unit 8. Recruitment and Selection Process

3 class based assignments focused around human resources which are internally assessed.
