Entry Requirements: - Students wishing to study 3 Level 3 courses will be required to achieve 5+ GCSEs at grade 5 and above including English and Mathematics. However, some subjects have additional requirements in terms of the grades required. The Marsh Academy operates a sliding scale of qualifications which are outlined on the Marsh Academy website. There is scope for students to study 2 Level 3 subjects and also studying some Level 2 subjects. Students who wish to study two subjects must have attained 4+GCSEs at grade 5 or above.

Course Summary
Learners will be introduced to the dynamic business environment and the importance of entrepreneurial activity in creating business opportunities and sustaining business growth. The focus of our A level Business specification is to nurture an enthusiasm for studying business using contemporary contexts, allowing learners to develop an appreciation of the strategic, complex and inter-related nature of business issues from a local to a global perspective.
Course Details
Students will cover a wide range of business content and concepts through the study of four-units. Two will be studied in the first year, learning about business opportunities and business functions. In the second year, students will learn about business analysis and strategy and business in a changing world.
How will it be delivered and assessed?
The qualification is assessed through three externally set papers:
Paper 1: Business Opportunities – 15% of final grade
Paper 2: Business Functions – 25% of final grade
Paper 3: Business Analysis and Strategy 30% of final grade
Paper 4: Business in a Changing World – 30% of final grade
Entry requirements
Students must achieve a minimum of 5 GCSEs grade 5 or above including English and Maths. A grade 5 or above in GCSE Business if previously studied must be achieved.
