Course Summary

This course is equivalent to one or two A Levels and is for those who want to work in the exciting and rapidly changing travel and tourism industry. The industry offers great opportunities for enthusiastic and hardworking individuals who want to look after customers and who enjoy working as part of a team. You will benefit from participating in a range of educational visits throughout the duration of the programme to iconic attractions. You will develop your communication and employability skills for the Tourism Industry by taking part in a range of activities including customer service, events and organising a study visit throughout the two years.

Course Details

The units we offer are ones we believe to be engaging, interesting and useful for your future goals. They include: Investigating The World of Travel & Tourism; The Principles of Marketing in Travel & Tourism UK; Customer Service; The Airport Experience; Organising a Travel and Tourism Study Visit & Global Destinations.

How will it be delivered and assessed?

Students are assessed in a variety of ways. This can include written and / or online produced case studies, presentations, practical visits and work experience, externally moderated assessment and examinations. Students are fully prepared for all means of assessment and perform well under these conditions.

Entry requirements

Students should have achieved a grade 4 in English Lit and / or Language alongside 4 other good GCSE passes at Grade 4 or above. You should also have a genuine interest in the travel and tourism industry and possible future employment opportunities.

Your next steps...

On successful completion of this course you may progress to the BTEC HND Diploma in Hospitality Management or BTEC HND Diploma in International Travel and Tourism Management or BSc Hons in International Hotel and Tourism Management at Ulster University or other Universities. Or alternatively move into employment with a range of roles including Airlines, Travel Agencies, Tour Operators, Tourist Information Centres, Hotels, Restaurants and Events.
