Entry Requirements: - For entry onto our A Level and BTEC courses we require:
• a minimum of 6 separately identifiable GCSE subjects at an average grade 5.5 or above and at least a grade 5 in English Language and Mathematics;
• a grade 6 or above in the chosen course of study or a related subject as specified in the sixth form prospectus.
• two grade 7sin Mathematics or Sciences, to study 2 or more Sciences or Mathematics and Science.

Biology A level
Course Details
A-Level Biology gives you the opportunity to study many of the same topics as at GCSE, but in much greater depth, as well as focusing on applications of Biology in the real world. Topics at AS include biological molecules, organism exchange of substances with their environment and genetics. Topics in the full A-Level also include energy transfers in and between organisms, organism response to internal and external environments, genetics, populations evolution and ecosystems and the control of gene expression.

Paper 2: Any content from A-Level Topics listed above
Paper 3: Any content from AS and A-Level Topics listed above
You will also undertake a number of Core Practicals throughout the year to gain a separate ‘Practical Endorsement’.
Entry requirements
GCSE Grade 6 or above in Biology or GCSE Combined Science Grade 6 or above. If you are taking GCSE Combined Science, you must have scored a grade 6 in the Biology units.
If you wish to study two Sciences at A-level or one Science and Mathematics, you will need to obtain a grade 7 in both subjects.
