The Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma in Applied Science comprises both mandatory (core) and optional units, allowing students to tailor their studies to specific interests within the scientific field. Learners will be assessed by a mixture of coursework and examinations. In order to achieve the diploma students are required to sit a total of two externally assessed units and four internally assessed units.
