Sugar Craft and Cake Decorating

For beginners or for those with more experience, you will learn or improve sugar craft and cake decorating techniques through demonstration, hands on experience, individual and group learning in a friendly and supportive class. During the course we will aim to use both sugar paste and Royal icing to improve such skills as cake covering, piping, modelling, making flowers and decorations for cakes. There is a continuation course in the spring/summer. By the end of the course you will be able to decorate a celebration or novelty cake. The first class is demonstration only. Please bring apron, dish/tea cloth notebook and pen. You will need to supply your own materials. The class is mixed ability so students can learn at their own level plus learning from each other. Continuous informal assessment throughout the sessions, and where appropriate, through the use of Individual Learning Plans, as specified by RARPA

Some courses will offer progression routes, there may also be an opportunity to join other associated courses or clubs. This will be discussed during the last lesson.
