This course is an excellent preparation for teacher training. It is delivered by the same tutors who deliver the PGCE Teacher Training at Bexhill College.

Course Details

You will explore the role of a teacher using recent theory and a practical approach to; lesson planning, schemes of work, building knowledge and skill into lessons, starters, aims and objectives, active learning, plenaries, flip learning, assessment, questioning, stretch and challenge, capturing learning, recall, retrieval exam revision and course work. You will look at resilience and managing your time and explore different routes into this rewarding career, including preparing for an interview and 'micro-teach'.

During the course, you will have the opportunity to observe lessons and meet teachers from different subjects.

The course is based in a sixth-form college and is ideal preparation for post-16 training however teaching skills are transferable, and the course can be adapted for those looking to teach different age groups.
