PGCE Teacher Training

This course is a part-time in-service PGCE enabling you to train on the job. The course is delivered by experienced tutors who will support you in developing your teaching skills.

You will explore current research and receive practical support and guidance on how to apply this in your teaching.

To enrol on this course, you need to have passion and enthusiasm for supporting and developing the planning and delivery of lessons. You will need a degree or professional qualifications to support your subject knowledge. This route into teaching is hard work as you are working and studying at the same time, but it prepares you well for a rewarding career in teaching. GCSE Maths and English or equivalent at grade C/4 or above is also required.

On successful completion of the course, you will be awarded a Graduate Certificate of Education (level 6) or a Certificate of Education (level 5). Once qualified, you can complete QTLS through the Society of Education and Training.
