L2 Health and Social Care Extended Diploma

This course is for people with an interest in working in health and social care. There are five exciting, mandatory units; Working in health and social care, Safeguarding and protection in health and social care, Equality and Diversity, Human growth and development, and Communication in health and social care. There are then two further units from a range of optional units including; Anatomy and physiology for health and social care, Common care disorders, Creative activities in health and social care, Nutrition and Dementia awareness.

You need to produce a portfolio of evidence consisting of assignments, presentations, reports and practical tasks.

You could progress onto a Level 3 programme to develop your knowledge and understanding, or you may choose to go into the workplace and undertake an apprenticeship, or study an Access to HE course and progress to University. Alternatively, you may begin working in a care environment and start working towards your care certificate on the job
