Introduction to Sign Language

This is an introduction to Sign Language. It is for students that wish to gain an insight into the skills needed to be successful for the next stage of sign language learning. You will learn about the frame, the skills, how the language flows. You will gain the confidence needed to be successful at signing without the pressures of taking exams. You will have fun learning basic sign language and finger spelling. We will cover the main vocabulary that is needed within most walks of life and hopefully , during the course you will get the opportunity to meet and sign with a deaf person. Tutor: TBC

Continuous informal assessment throughout the sessions, and where appropriate, through the use of Individual Learning Plans, as specified by RARPA

Some courses will offer progression routes, there may also be an opportunity to join other associated courses or clubs. This will be discussed during the last lesson.
