Course Summary
The course will enable you to read a wide range of texts fluently and with good understanding. Read critically and use knowledge gained from wide reading to inform and improve your own writing. Write effectively and coherently using standard English appropriately and listen to and understand spoken language.
Please note, this is an examination class.
Gaining a grade C in GCSE English language is a stepping stone into many types of education and employment.
You should take this course if you intend to progress to a Level 3 program, apply for a university course or this qualification may be required by specific employers.
How will it be delivered and assessed?
You will be assessed on your coursework and in a final exam. You will submit four Controlled Assessments throughout the year, which are aggregated with the result of your exam to produce your final grade. The total assessments are split 40% coursework and 60% written exams.
