Course Summary
Study with us and gain a Functional Skills qualification in English. Our Functional Skills courses will help you develop your reading, writing and spoken communication skills, and you will learn how to use these skills effectively in the workplace, further study and everyday life.
We offer Functional Skills qualifications from Entry Level to Level 2 (subject to availability). Gaining a Functional Skills qualification can help you achieve your personal or career goals - it is a stepping stone to many types of education and employment. You should take this course if you hope to progress on to study GCSE English in the future.
How will it be delivered and assessed?
You will be assessed by taking two exams: one that focuses on writing and one on reading skills. You will also complete two speaking and listening assessments. Successful completion of all three components (reading, writing, and speaking and listening) will result in you achieving a Pass as your final grade.
Your next steps...
You could progress on to further study including GCSE English, or into employment or technical education such as an apprenticeship.
