Access to Higher Education Diploma : Humanities combined with Social Sciences

Our Humanities Combined with Social Sciences Pathway prepares students for degree level study on a variety of Humanities and Social Science-related degree courses. Previous students from this Pathway have progressed onto degree courses such as Psychology, Sociology, History, Geography, English and Social Work. On this Pathway, in addition to the core modules, you will be studying the following subject modules: � Introduction to the Study of History � Working with Literary Texts � Literature and Society � Development of Social Welfare � History of Ideas � Introduction to Sociology � Introduction to Psychology � Social Welfare in the 21st Century � Social Research Methods � Anti-Discriminatory Practice � Psychology and Mental Health � History of Education

Assessment is ongoing throughout the course. Assignments, which take a variety of forms (such as essays, reports and presentations) are completed for each module. Students on all pathways complete a final assessment of a research project and presentation on a topic within their subject discipline.
