There are a few small extra costs associated with this course, as you will need to pay a small fee for your UCAS application to universities, and you may wish to buy some textbooks relating to the A-Level Science syllabus.

Course Summary

Our Combined Sciences Access course prepares you for degree-level study in a variety of Science-related degree courses. You will study units in Biology and Chemistry and develop your research skills, ready for your degree.

How will it be delivered and assessed?

You will be assessed by essays, reports, textual analysis, seminar presentations and examinations. You will also submit assignments for each subject unit and complete coursework in the core units. You will also submit a 5,000-word research project on a subject of your choice, which will form a major part of the overall assessment.

Entry requirements

You must hold GCSE English or Maths at C /4 or above and retake the other alongside the Access course if you dont have both.

Your next steps...

Once you have finished this course, you can progress onto science-related degree courses at universities across the country. Many of our students go on to local universities, such as the University of Sussex, Brighton and Chichester (guaranteed interviews and guaranteed places are offered for some courses at these universities through the Compact programme).
