Course Summary
Our Health and Health Sciences Access course prepares you for degree-level study in a variety of Health profession degree courses, such as nursing, midwifery, paramedic science, physiotherapy, radiography, occupational therapy and other allied health professions. You will study a variety of mostly biology based units, such as Human Cardiopulmonary Systems, Cell Biology, Reproductive Biology and while developing your research skills through the Academic Study Skills and Independent Academic Study units.
How will it be delivered and assessed?
As with all Access courses, we want to develop your confidence and ability to study independently. You will be assessed through a variety of methods, including lab work, written reports, oral presentations, tests, essays and model making. In the last semester you will also complete an extended Independent Project on a subject of your own choice.
Entry requirements
GCSE English at grade C is required. GCSE Maths at grade C is desirable depending on the degree you wish to progress on to, but essential for applicants wishing to progress to teacher training degrees.
